      • ⟶ shaft turns wire coils
        • ⟶ coils spin in magnetic casing
  • metal in wire ( eg copper) has electrons that jump orbits / valence shells easily
  • magnetic field pulls & pushes electrons
  • Electricity is the result of electrons moving across atoms
