Lesson 6 of6

Chapter 3: Preparing for school application

Abdulaziz July 18, 2021

( school requirements): based on the last module you should have at least three schools. Now  for this exercise:

Go to each of their websites and write down in your notes:

1- undergraduate requirements:  look for grades in high school, what type of tests and courses they accept (AP, IB, school-based honors and transferable college courses..etc).

2- international student requirements: look for English requirements, and what type of certificate they ask for based on your country, also check to see if they have a special contact or anything else you should note.

3- go and check their stats for acceptance, what % do they admit, and write it down. This will give you an insight on how competitive the school is.

4- read on what is it exactly they are looking for in an applicant, how to answer their questions, normally found under “ tips”. Copy this part onto your notes and read them carefully and understand clearly what they are asking for and who are they looking for.

And most importantly you must discuss this with your group!  After the discussion come back to your notes and rewrite down in your own words what you have understood from step4, this is important because it will define the style that will write your CV and SOP.
